Interior: Living / Dining Area, Bedroom, Kitchen, & Bathroom

The Interior

Apartment 1L comes furnished. It is an open spaced 1-bedroom, approximately 600 square foot, with large windows that welcome in lots of natural light. Wood floors and high ceilings are throughout. A large white arch with matching white curtains separates the living / dining area from the bedroom. I do not use an air conditioner in the summer, but you can bring a window unit if you desire. The apartment comes with a plug-in fan, in addition to a ceiling fan (shown below).

Off the living / dining area, to the right in the image below, is a small bathroom with a shower and PLENTY of cabinet space.

Straight back, off the living / dining area, is a kitchen with a backdoor that leads to a small well-kept back yard with beds for gardening. The kitchen comes with a gas stove and oven, a full-size refrigerator, appliances, cookware, dishes, and utensils (different from the items in the image). There are two cabinets -- one on each side of the sink--where you can store your food and seasonings for your meals. The kitchen does not come with a dishwasher or a microwave; I haven't missed them. Green and yellow plaid stool cushions as well as yellow curtains are included.

Views of the Quinnipiac River, one block away, are visible from the kitchen window. There is one word to describe the sunrises and sunsets that greet you every morning and evening: Gorgeous. The new door in the kitchen has a slidable storm window, converting into a nice screen door that lets in a wonderful breeze during the warm-weather seasons.

Light, light, and more natural light. There is plenty of space in the bedroom to practice yoga or dance if necessary. It comes with a queen-size pillow-top bed, two matching drawers, a large wooden closet with an attached dresser drawer (on the left, not visible), an orange upholtered storage bench, and a large white shoe shelf (the shoe shelf in the photo has been replaced with a larger shelf). Unfortunately, the marble fireplace is not functional. Nevertheless, it adds to the decor. To the right of the fireplace, a shelf is attached to the wall. Combining this shelf with a medium-sized soft brown leather foot stool, I created a vanity.
